Position Summary:

The Senior Software Engineering Delivery Lead is responsible for leading the implementation of Quantum’s next generation digital platform (Quantum Energy Cloud). (S)he is responsible for identifying the overall agile delivery structure, executing the software engineering delivery and ensuring accomplishment of business results.

The Engineering Lead works closely with Quantum’s CTO, CISO, Chief Architect, Data Scientist and Partners to integrate the digital business priorities into a strategic and sustainable product roadmap.

Quantum’s Energy Cloud is a next generation industry cloud focused on providing composite digital solutions for sub-surface, surface, corporate function, Private Equity and alternative energy. It combines and analyses data from Quantum’s portfolio companies, capital markets and industry sources to provide state of the art Data Science insights.

While building towards a multi-cloud approach, our engineering team consists of Azure, Ansible and AWS experts.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Establish the company’s software engineering discipline ranging from technology, cloud, application, and engagement layer standards.
  • Run delivery, resolving delivery issues on large scale programs
  • Lead initiation, planning and execution of complex projects and programs.
  • Work closely with the Chief Architect to define and execute QEP’s digital platform.
  • Hold overall responsibility for software and application implementation including cloud automation.
  • Building the Agile delivery team as well as taking active part in transforming overall QEP delivery organization to accommodate fast-paced changing market and technology landscape
  • Serve as Chief Software Engineer.
  • Manage a larger team of offshore partner resources (30 to 50 people)
  • Work closely with sponsors and product owners to define product functions and features.
  • Execute overall software roadmap.
  • Provide thought leadership and influence Quantum’s BCP, SLA and OLAs.
  • Work closely with the Chief Architect to establish QEP’s Engineering Standards.
  • Continuously foster your technology skills, lead, coordinate, and drive decision making process for key technology decisions

Experience and Abilities:

Required

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • Strong technical and software engineering skills with a proven track record of digital platform delivery.
  • Strong background and recent hands-on experience in Software Delivery Management and Solution Architecture
  • Ability to understand 'Big Picture' as well as to dive into project-level details. Ability to establish and manage 'at scale' in multi-region setup
  • Strong expertise in API, micro-service development and usage.
  • Experience executing from ground up solutions
  • Experience delivering cloud-ready solutions, GCP, AWS or Azure
  • Experience delivering micro-service architectures to life
  • Experience with larger software development projects (30+FTEs).
  • Prior experience with managing decentralized and offshore teams required.
  • Strong familiarity and prior experience with leading agile frameworks (e.g. SAFe).
  • Critical thinker with extensive IT experience in building and deploying large scale digital platforms.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to deal with a path forward that is not always well-defined.
  • Change agent capable of working through implementation and adoption issues.
  • BS, MS / PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline
