Vice President of Engineering

Our client is seeking a Vice President of Engineering to lead and manage the engineering and operations teams responsible for Cloud Managed Services, Development, CI/CD, SRE, and security. They are the leading self-service analytics provider for Presto and is the only company with a cloud-native managed service for Presto on AWS.

You will be responsible for delivering on the product strategy and direction from the product team and CPO and as well as implementing the architecture defined by architecture team and CTO.

They are an all-remote company and are funded by Tier-1 VC firms.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

They are seeking a dynamic engineering executive who has managed teams of various sizes in both startups and established companies across multiple geographies.

The qualifications must include:

• BSCS/EE or MSCS/EE with 7+ years’ experience
• Proven track record managing the development and hosting of large-scale infrastructure platforms in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
• Management of partial- or fully-remote teams (ideal), or strong interest in building an All-Remote team using industry best practices inspired by GitLab
• Strong team player with track record of managing, scaling and motivating teams
• Experience leading technical operations (DevOps, Infrastructure, CI/CD) teams
• Strong experience in Data Analytics, Distributed Databases, Cloud Engineering, Kubernetes, Managed Services and Open-Source technologies
• Experience with Agile software development
• Great energy and passion – must be comfortable in a rapidly changing dynamic environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills are absolute requirements, as you will be representing the company in external forums, conferences, and customer meetings.
