As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing quality python-based software applications that are built according to FDA software development guidelines. You will be responsible for contributing to the development of software specifications and design documentation, unit and system tests, automated deployment and testing components, and software modules.

Our client will expect you to have a proven track record developing quality medical software applications within a collaborative agile environment. You must also be a team player and thrive in a startup culture.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the creation of detailed software specifications, design documents, and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with other team members to follow an agile-based development technology, working to continuously improve the process and relevant agile metrics.
• Assist in the development, maintenance and execution of an automated testing and deployment framework.
• Assist with the design and review of software components.
• Build software components using established principles for good software development.
• Build unit tests following a test-driven development philosophy.
• Participate in the review of product requirements, design requirements, software requirements specifications, and functional specifications.

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work and study experience.
• At least 5 years’ experience developing Python applications in an application server environment.
• Knowledge and some experience with Docker
• Experience in Cloud environment is a must have. (AWS, Azure, GCP) AWS highly preferred.
• Experience working in an agile environment.
• Experience developing python unit tests.

Preferred Skills:

• Master’ degree preferred
• Demonstrated success in a start-up, entrepreneurial work environment.
• Excellent understanding of software engineering principles and state of the art design patterns.
• Experience with DICOM is a plus.
• Experience with java is a plus.
• Familiarity with machine learning pipelines is a plus
• Experience developing software as a medical device (SaMD)
• Fluent in computer skills and, at a minimum, the use of Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft Office Excel, Microsoft Office PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office Project programs
