About the Role
The Software/Embedded Engineer will design and develop new features and services for Brivo's access control systems. Our best engineers are adept at picking up new things, enjoy solving challenging problems, speak up, and thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
In this role, you will also be expected to:
- Support new features and enhancements by creating clean, readable performant code up across the entire development stack
- Maintain quality of product and test coverage (including automated tests)
- In conjunction with other team members, help improve development and quality strategies to streamline the check-in, testing, and overall productivity for coding and building the application
- Collaborate with peers in your team to complete planning and review activities
- Work in DevOps culture and foster product ownership
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or closely related IT field preferred.
- 5+ years year of experience developing systems in Java, C, C++, or similar technologies
- Experience developing embedded software for custom hardware
- Atmel Atmega, Arm Cortex-M, Silicon Labs, or other microcontrollers
- Ability to read a microprocessor data-sheet
- Experience with testing and debugging new and existing designs
- Experience with BLE/WIFI stacks and debugging
- Hands on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other test equipment
- Great attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal/communication skills
- Experience working in a team-oriented atmosphere
Preferred Skills
- Experience with networking protocols such as TCP/IP, IPv6, DHCP
- Experience with communication technologies such as CAN, RS485 and RS232 (serial), TCP/IP
- LoRa networking experience
