The Role

We are seeking a talented and dedicated Director of Engineering to be part of Money-Media, a profitable subscription-based content and data provider. The Director of Engineering will work as a collaborative leader for our development team focused on our content products and our Content Management System (CMS) and will report directly to the CTO.

What will I be responsible for?

  • Report to the CTO
  • Turn complex project requirements into manageable technical plans
  • Manage and deliver projects on time
  • Maintain high design, architectural and software coding standards
  • Manage, Lead and mentor a small team of developers
  • Work with DevOps and QA groups to deliver projects successfully
  • Work to ensure build health and continuous delivery processes

What experience/skills do I need to be successful in this role?

  • 4-8+ Years of technology experience, programming and delivering applications in a production environment
  • 2+ Years managing small development teams
  • Excellent problem solving abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Leadership experience, proven ability to guide and motivate a team
  • Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycles
  • Excellent Unix Scripting or Debugging Skills
  • Experienced with Functional Programming, OO Design Principles and Patterns
  • Experience with managing source code with GIT and the GITHUB Flow
