Senior Backend Engineer

Prune.ai presents a scientific approach to social media marketing. We are building an AI-powered marketplace to help businesses promote their products via word-of-mouth on social media. We have a MVP in stealth mode and are currently testing via closed beta.

The engineering team works directly with Machine Learning Scientists, so there is opportunity for significant technical learning. Our team includes a PhD, ex-Amazon, and people with 10+ years of experience. Our team of 5 is fully remote at the moment, but we'd prefer applicants from the US to maximize time-zone overlap.

In the Senior Backend Software Developer role, you will get the chance to tackle challenging problems including: iterate quickly on a consumer-facing app; make architecture decisions with lasting impact; store and process large data sets; integrate these data sets into a data pipeline for machine learning; work with scientists to test and implement the latest ML algorithms in image recognition, NLP, and recommendation engines; integrate ML algorithms into our backend.

Requirements

• 4+ years experience in software development, working on robust, complex systems that serve a high volume of users and leverage a big data backend
• 2+ years experience with Python and Django
• 2+ years experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB or other no-SQL db
• 1+ years experience with AWS and/or Azure, Docker/Kubernetes
• Experience with Scala and Spark preferred
• 2+ years experience in front end web and mobile development preferred
• BA/BS in an engineering or science discipline
• Passion to help users with the technology you build
