Web Application Developer

The Web Applications Developer is an integral part of our Operations team and is responsible for administration, maintenance, and enhancement of our proprietary software platform (AIM) which allows our Operations team to manage our clients’ scholarship, grant, and tuition assistance programs. The software applications will include but may not be limited to websites, mobile applications, and web applications. In addition, this role will ensure sites remain scalable while complying with performance and security standards. The Web Applications Developer will work full-time from their Nashville, TN area home office. (Applications from outside Middle Tennessee will not be considered.)

Key Responsibilities

Development – The ability to complete application development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities

• Defines objectives by analyzing user requirements, system features, and functionality
• Recommends system solutions by comparing successes and opportunities of custom development alternatives
• Integrates applications by designing database architecture, server scripting and establishing connectivity with the network systems
• Troubleshoot development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms
• Supports users by developing documentation and additional resource tools
• Update Software Database as necessary
• Solicit feedback from marketing to update site content and document changes in source code

Client Experience- Effectively support the client’s goals and objectives in collaboration with the appropriate business partners

• Conduct systems analysis to support recommendations for updates on current operational processes
• Enhance organization reputation through personal accountability for accomplishing client’s request in a timely manner
• Demonstrate the ability to provide quarterly development updates in team meetings to improve service issues
• Gain a strong knowledge of the department operational processes to assist in reducing errors and meeting client timelines
• Review and Execute Program Specs from Designer in a timely manner
• Identify and resolve system issues quickly to assist in building client engagement

Implementation – Collaboration with Project Management to plan project schedules and technical direction to determine project scope and vision

• Demonstrate understanding of projects from both the perspective of both client and business
• Ensure the plan is implemented as designed and in adherence to the guidelines
• Collaborate internally to review and refine Program Specs into core system capabilities
• Assist team in conceptualizing and validating skills that meet business requirements for current and future clients
• Demonstrate the ability to prototype new requirements for the purpose of enhancing technical functionalities and information process workflows

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or Information Technology Systems
  
• 3+ years of proven experience in Web Application Development experience
• Technical expertise in single sign on services preferred
