The IT Division (ITD) in DNR is looking for a seasoned developer with deep and wide skills and abilities to help bring the Agency's technical capacity further into the 21st Century.

This position is the lead application developer for our Data Warehouse applications.

In addition to application development, you will also be the go-to person for information about our Data Warehouse applications, including updating schemas and some data governance as well as maintaining the data flow through our various database systems.

ITD as a whole supports the entire Agency's technological footprint, web applications, COTS solutions, networks, telephone, servers, storage, service desk, software/hardware licensing, GIS, policy, you name it. This position is in the Application Development group in the Dev/Data team.

What we will trust you with:

Designing, developing, and maintaining code for data synchronization between multiple sources (Online Transaction Processing (OLTP), DataMart, stage->prod, external systems) as well as maintaining DNR's DataMart and Data Warehouse applications.

Leading activities as they relate to implementation, maintenance, and support of the client-server application architecture and environments, including requirements and design specifications, development, testing, and deployment activities.

Providing custom business web and enterprise applications which adhere to industries and agency standards and best practices.

Ensuring DNR's DataMart and Data Warehousing applications are available and correct to our customers.

Providing guidance, consultation, and training on software development disciplines and methodologies to ensure processes and products comply with industry and agency standards.

Providing resolution to highly complex customer complaints and problems relating to all aspects of client-server application, programming and system issues, especially with regard to DNR's DataMart and Data Warehousing systems.

Coordinating with Agency business units and technical team leads to accomplish Agency priorities.

Collaborating with other Information Technology members to ensure the overall health of the data and application environment.

Assisting other developers and analysts as an expert data and application developer.

Providing mentoring to developers, especially in the area of web and application development.

Working closely with the customer to identify, clarify, prioritize and complete data enhancements.

Working with key stakeholders in ITD and business to establish project scope, timeline, and deliverables.

Using your advanced technical and business knowledge to make recommendations to decision-makers and management that help meet the business needs in support of the Agency mission.

The right candidate has:

A Bachelor of Science degree in data science, computer science, information systems, or related fields. AND a minimum of 7 years previous work experience in client-server coding and management of an enterprise data warehouse, analytical cubes and software supporting ad hoc reporting solutions. OR; Equivalent education/experience. Experience should include:

Five years recent experience designing, developing, and deploying Client-server applications.

Five years recent professional level working experience building custom applications with .Net, XML, Java Script, Python, SQL, and Standard Desktop Software.

Five years' experience trouble shooting all type of technical issues and providing support on client-server applications, system software and supporting tools including tools such as products as Windows Event Viewer, Charles, Fiddler or other related products.

Mastery of advanced concepts around web services, micro services, and inter-application communication across networks.

Knowledge and experience in all systems development life cycle stages.

Ability to translate highly complex and ambiguous problems into actionable components and recommendations to drive solutions.

Desirable Qualifications:

Fluency in data modeling and best industry practices for data warehousing

Oracle Forms application development experience
