Its members work in corporations, universities and government, using their knowledge of chemical processes to develop safe and useful products for the benefit of society. Through its varied programs, AIChE continues to be a focal point for information exchange on the frontiers of chemical engineering research in such areas as energy, sustainability, biological and environmental engineering, nanotechnology, and chemical plant safety and security.

Position Summary

Reporting to the CIO, in partnership with the Manager for IT infrastructure and the Manager for IT operations, the Manager of IT Solutions will drive our use of information technologies by leading the development of new business applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise and current interest in software development, ability to balance multiple priorities and drivers, and experience working with senior business leaders. This position is located in NYC and it does not offer a relocation package.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned projects from concept to completion, leading project management, business analysis, technical design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Manage maintenance and break/fix support for assigned business applications.
  • Manage assigned team & vendors.
  • Collaborate with the IT management team to maintain & evolve the Enterprise Architecture.
  • Perform management reporting, including reporting on trends, insights, plans, risk & status.
  • Perform other assigned duties in support of IT department.

Education/Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science.
  • 10+ years software development experience with 3+ years interfacing with business users.
  • Ability to provide full-stack leadership in a .NET & Drupal/PHP environment, leading a small team.
  • Willingness to work in a resource constrained environment, with ability to influence expectations, manage priorities and make trade-offs.
  • Experience with Association Management/CRM/ERP & Web Content Management systems highly desirable.
