THE OPPORTUNITY:

Role: Email Production Assistant

Reports to: Email Director

The Communications and Marketing Team is looking for an Email Production Assistant to join ActBlue’s Email Team. The Email Team does more than just write fundraising and marketing emails. We’re a group of hardworking and fun people who reward creativity, exploration, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.

Reporting to the Email Director, you will be responsible for supporting a number of projects including coding fundraising and marketing emails, conducting analysis, and other duties as assigned. This is an entry level position.

The ideal candidate is someone who can transfer their coursework, internship experience, or relevant skills to the role. The right person for the job is a go-getter, open to learning new skills, takes direction with enthusiasm, and can work well under pressure! And of course, a passion for empowering small-dollar donors and building grassroots movements is a must.

Responsibilities:

• Code fundraising and marketing emails, analyze metrics, and assist senior strategists on larger projects including email design, personalization, and automation
• Learn and apply basic HTML, CSS, and SQL to code, design, target, and send ActBlue’s fundraising and marketing emails
• Learn and manage how to use common CRMs including ActionKit
• Analyze email metrics and report back to the Email Team on best practices and results
• Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications:

• 0-1 year(s) of experience in email fundraising or marketing
• Knowledge of the issues and a passion for building grassroots movements
• Familiarity with Google Docs, Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organization and prioritization skills
• Attention to detail — you have an eagle eye and take pride in your work
• Flexible — you are able to think on your feet and shift gears quickly
• Work well under pressure — you can churn out emails quickly
• Proven ability to read and analyze data
• Find joy in geeking out over everything politics and email

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience using CRMs like ActionKit
• Basic knowledge of HTML or CSS
• Experience interning with a marketing, email, or advertising team, or on a communications or digital team of a campaign

LOCATION & COMPENSATION:

ActBlue’s office is located in Davis Square in Somerville, MA, just a few blocks from Boston’s MBTA Red Line train. This posting is for a full-time, in-office, salaried position. We offer a competitive salary and a generous compensation package, which includes commuter benefits; fully paid and trans-inclusive health, dental, and vision insurance; an employer-sponsored 401k contribution plan; and a flexible time off policy.

Salary Level: $50K
