Senior Data Center Infrastructure Engineer

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC), America’s first superhighway, is seeking an individual to join our Information Technology team as the Senior Data Center Infrastructure Engineer! Our mission is to operate a safe, reliable, customer-valued toll road system that supports national mobility and commerce. The PTC operates a 552-mile system used by 194 million vehicles a year. The Senior Data Center Infrastructure Engineer supports the complete life cycle of infrastructure components including design, installation, testing, maintenance, support and upgrade. Responsibilities

• Supports the complete life cycle of various data center, cloud technology and infrastructure components including, but not limited to; client hardware/software, server hardware/software, storage systems, backup/recovery systems and relational databases.

• Monitors and provides support for systems that may be available to customers 24/7. Provides after-hours maintenance and administrative support as needed.

• Creates and adheres to technical policies and procedures to preserve a stable and productive computing environment. Works to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, policies, procedures and service level agreements.

• Acts as a customer service representative with internal and external users to provide technical advice/assistance. Responds to incidents and/or service requests.

• Sets priorities appropriately to ensure that work outputs are timely and of the highest quality. Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science or information systems

• Six (6) years of experience in at least two (2) of the following technologies:

o Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems

o Microsoft Active Directory/Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS)

o Storage Area Networks

o Relational Databases (Microsoft SQL preferred)

o Cloud based infrastructure as a service (IaaS)

o Server Virtualization (VMWare preferred)

o Desktop Virtualization (VMWare Horizon preferred)

o Enterprise Email – Microsoft Exchange/Office 365

o System Management Software (Microsoft System Center preferred)

Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be accepted.

Location

The position is located at the PTC’s headquarters in Middletown, PA, right outside of Pennsylvania’s capital city. The Central PA region has plenty to offer from picturesque scenery to premier entertainment, while residents enjoy an affordable cost of living. It is conveniently located within a few hours’ drive of popular metropolitan areas such as Philadelphia, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Washington D.C. and New York City.

There is a Pennsylvania residency requirement, which must be fulfilled within six months of employment.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for the Senior Data Center Infrastructure Engineer is $71,872-$107,807. The selected candidate will be offered an exceptional benefits package which includes comprehensive medical, dental, vision and prescription coverage, along with a benefit plan for retirement. Coverage is fully paid by the PTC for employee, spouse and/or eligible dependents.
