Globalscape (GSB) is an industry-leading provider of Managed File Transfer (MFT) software and service solutions. Our core products, Enhanced File Transfer (EFT) by Globalscape is a powerful, complete MFT platform. Our solutions are deployable on-premise, in the Cloud, or in a hybrid on-prem/Cloud environment, EFT offers the tools and flexibility to meet clients’ unique business needs.

Globalscape is seeking a Solution Architect to partner with our sales team on enterprise opportunities demonstrating our products and services solving key business issues for our potential customers.

This is a “player coach” position, which requires a combination of technical, sales and leadership skills. The Globalscape Senior Solution Architect ​is expected to develop the members of the Sales Engineer team as it relates to their technical, presentation and soft skills. The Solution Architect ​ is expected to provide regular (weekly) summary progress reports to his/her supervisor.

The successful Solution Architect ​will have a combination of advanced technical ability (at the level of a solutions architect), as well as excellent leadership, mentoring/coaching, teamwork and client-facing skills.

It is required for this person to be located on site at our San Antonio, Texas Headquarters.

The Globalscape Solution Architect ​ you will;

  • Act as primary technical trainer for new Sales Engineers
  • Lead, coach, train and develop the Sales Engineering team
  • Address pre-sales technical issues and specific business needs while interfacing with the client’s technical team to assess major operational requirements then provides solutions in a live environment
  • Assist in building and maintaining demos, delivering proofs of concept (POCs)
  • Assist the sales team with product positioning and written and verbal responses to technical questions
  • Respond to RFPs/RFIs, participate in phone and live meetings as the technical expert on Globalscape’s products and services
  • Develop use cases and presenting them to the sales team and others, enabling partners, and other duties as may be required
  • Review product defects and feature requests for escalation.
  • Present Globalscape’s solutions’ value proposition and provide product demonstrations at trade shows, conduct webinars, and present to clients
  • Maintain in-depth product AND services knowledge, as well as “best practice”, of all Globalscape solutions
  • Provide feedback to Product Strategy/Management regarding client-requested product features
  • Some travel required 50%

To be successful in this role you should have;

  • 7+ years of experience interacting directly with clients, preferably working in the MFT and/or security space
  • 10+ years of experience with Microsoft Windows and host systems, and familiarity with demo environment management software (e.g., VMWare)
  • 5+ years’ experience in network administration or closely related fields
  • High level of emotional intelligence
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven working experience speaking effectively before groups of employees or prospective clients
  • Proven ability to think critically and creatively to resolve issues in diverse technological environments
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to engage effectively with Enterprise Architects establishing your role as a trusted advisor
  • Deep understanding of Business Process Automation software and the role it plays in supporting organizations; large and small
  • Knowledge of standard business productivity software and Contact Management systems
  • Understanding of compliance targets for different industries. PCI, GDPR, NIST are a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of Hyper-scaler solutions, physical and cloud infrastructures, RTO/RPO, Cloud Compliance requirements, OpEx / CapEx models, data replication/back-up, public and hybrid cloud
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry certifications and experience
  • Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP and its role in supporting the effective implementation of internet protocols
  • Detailed knowledge of DNS systems, firewalls, VPNs or other corporate data security methods.
  • Proficiency in a scripting language including understanding of logic flows and algorithm creation. PowerShell is a plus.
  • Knowledge of: Strong Authentication, End Point Security, Internet Policy Enforcement, Firewalls, Web Content Filtering, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI),
  • Strong understanding of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) technologies. ICAP is a plus
  • Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) technologies
  • Deep understanding of LDAP, SAML and SSO.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows Server OS and Active Directory technologies and administration
  • Experience with network concepts, equipment, administration, and protocols. Deep knowledge of file transfer protocols is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge and experience working in a pre-sale role in Cloud, Data Center, Hybrid IT space
  • Experience working in a public cloud infrastructure. Microsoft Azure and AWS are preferred.
  • Experience with databases and database technologies. SQL Server and SQLite are a plus.
  • Knowledge of ESX 5 and HyperV - virtualization knowledge a plus

Technical Skills:
