The Art Institute of Chicago is looking for an innovative and experienced Web Product Manager to join the team that manages the museum’s website. The digital team is part of the larger Experience Design department, which is responsible for ensuring continuity in the visitor experience as they move from mobile to web to gallery experiences. The Art Institute of Chicago is an encyclopedic art museum with more than 300,000 works in the collection. The web product manager will play an essential and leading role in how we manage the digital product, how we communicate with collaborators, and how we strategize future states of our web presence. A successful candidate will be a forward-thinking, technically-savvy producer with excellent communication chops and a proven ability to prioritize and schedule workflows for engineering, design, and content.
Duties may include:

- Web strategy. Envisions and proposes new iterations of the website, while adapting to changing trends in technology. Shares insights and web trends with the broader digital team.
- Content. Works closely with the communications team to update and lay out content. Also, looks for opportunities with external partners to extend our content and drive traffic to our website.
- Content Management System. Oversees the CMS (Twill) and manages training and credentials for new users.
- Analytics. Works with an interdisciplinary team to observe and respond to trends in analytics. Actively scrutinizes dashboards and turns insights into initiatives.
- Communication. Manages all meetings, scheduling, and communication related to the web product. Leads web-related meetings, such as the web steering committee, content group, and technical group.
- Production management for web related projects. This would include managing budgets, developing and coordinating contracts, and working with outside vendors on special projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, new media, digital humanities, or arts administration.
- Minimum 3-5 years professional experience managing a digital product.
- Fluency in track ticketing and agile development.
The Art Institute of Chicago is an equal opportunity, equal access employer fully committed to achieving a diverse and inclusive workplace.
