Senior SAP Developer

The Senior Developer is responsible for leveraging SAP to deliver and implement moderate to highly complex technical solutions that add business value to the organization. Under minimal supervision, the Senior Developer will perform program activities based on technical specifications and will be called upon to provide expert technical knowledge. Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and support for the application development team.

Essential Duties
· Provides technical support to business users by translating business requirements into technical solutions as well as translating complex technical concepts into business language
· Develop technical solutions to meet business needs in accordance with established standards
· Evaluates current system capabilities to identify changes that need to be made and determines the impact on the business.Ensures that programming and software requirements fulfill business objectives.
· Negotiates technical solutions before changes are implemented
· Ensures all technical solutions are well documented and update documents as changes are made
· Tests technical changes and collaborate with business system analyst on functional,integration, regression and business user acceptance testing and sign off
· Develop overall technical system design and prototypes of major system components
· Adheres to Edward Don & Company defined methods, standards and policies for development and operation of systems
· Performs other duties as assigned

Position Role/Responsibility
• Development - [50% of Time]
· Designs, codes, tests, installs, and supports moderate to highly complex enhancements to existing business applications and new development projects
· Performs SAP ABAP programming using tools including Object Oriented programming with ABAP Objects, Easy Enhancement Workbench (EEWB), ABAP Workbench, Webservices, SAP Business Workflow, OSS Notes, BAPI, BADI, RFC, ALE, EDI IDOCs, Query Painter, Menu Painter, Screen Painter SmartForms, Adobe Forms, Interactive Adobe Forms, Object Model ALV, SAP CCMS Printing, Transport Management and Debugging
· Facilitate the adaption and the best utilization of existing SAP technical functionality or determine the feasibility of developing a custom technical solution to address/support business requirements and business process improvement initiatives

• Testing - [20% of Time]
· Responsible for the functional test of new and updated applications and systems to verify the desired results are achieved. Evaluates results and coordinates or makes modifications to improve system performance. Creates test plans as required.

• Administration- [20% of Time]
· Participate in structured walk throughs
· Provide weekly status update on development projects and support.

• Support – [10% of Time]
· Troubleshoot and resolve low to highly complex level production support issues for both critical and non-critical business applications.

· Hands on experience of 7 plus years in SAP technical design, development, testing, and support with extensive experience developing within more than one SAP module.
· Work experience in SAP PI/PO in the NetWeaver 7.0 Environment
· Work experience writing interfaces using multiple integration tools/techniques.

· Ability to monitor ABAP programs using tools such as Runtime Analysis, Code Inspector, SQL Trace, and System Log
· Conduct root cause analysis on business application defects to implement solutions that prevent problem re-occurrence. Document the corrective action taken on support issues in order to increase the support knowledge base.

Required minimum knowledge, skills, education/training, experience, physical obligations:
· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
· 7+ years of experience in SAP ABAP development and strong knowledge of data modeling, development tools, and performance tuning.
· Has knowledge of commonly-used technical concepts, practices, and procedures within SAP.
· Comprehensive understanding of SAP PI/PO functionality and architecture.
· Ability to create technical specifications to meet objectives of functional specifications and requirements studies
· Ability to plan and organize work to achieve job objectives and set priorities among activities
· Ability to assume responsibility for completion of one's own work and meet deadlines
