Information Technology
Pew's Information Technology (IT) department takes a proactive approach toward the use of technology to increase the organization's capacity for exceptionally high-quality strategic philanthropy. Executive staff at the Trusts recognizes the importance of technology, and supports related initiatives to advance the institution's goals and achieve and maintain a leadership position in the philanthropic community. As a result, IT is in a mode of continuous improvement, applying leading-edge technology to the pursuit of the goals of the institution.

The department comprises highly competent, forward-thinking professionals who are responsible for the technology needs of all Pew staff, as well as for Pew's subsidiaries in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. IT is organized into distinct areas of responsibility, including application operations, infrastructure operations (including desktop support and technical training), project delivery and solution design.

Position Overview
The Senior Associate, HRIS is responsible for ensuring the successful operation and ongoing enhancement of the institution's HR information systems, primarily Workday. The primary duties of this position revolve around requirements analysis, design, technical configuration, and delivery of applications that directly support the acquisition, retention, management and development of human capital. It requires significant use of initiative and independent judgment in managing both operations and projects with stakeholders from Pew's program and operations areas, as well as external consultants and third-party vendors. The Senior Associate, HRIS reports to the Associate Manager, HRIS.

Responsibilities

  • Provides subject matter expertise and delivery support for Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) application and downstream systems (e.g., iCIMS,) critical to the day-to-day activities of Pew's HR function.
  • Acts as a point of business process and functional expertise related to the employee life cycle. Participates in relevant process mapping and provides guidance to the business regarding technical solutions.
  • Participates in solution design; collaborates with team members on new feature design, requirements, limitations, and implementation.
  • Works well in a highly collaborative team. Shares solutions, successes, and opportunities with the group.
  • Supports ongoing development within an Agile development methodology and contributes to all phases of the software development lifecycle. Articulates development status to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Utilizes Workday Studio to create and maintain custom reports, troubleshoots integrations with Providers, and other task as required.
  • Leads test cycles. Analyzes and mitigates issues identified during testing. Works with all parties to mitigate risks and resolve process, integration and security issues.
  • Supports management of related technical environment/ tenants, including the ongoing migration of configuration and related validation testing in each instance.
  • Documents and implements configuration changes.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with key program and operations staff; works with the Manager, HRIS to align tasks with unit goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of four years' experience hands on experience with HR / HCM systems (strong preference for Workday).
  • Three or more years' experience in business analysis and requirements gathering, including responsibility for developing relevant documentation.
  • Experience supporting the following areas: HCM business process, benefits administration, time tracking, absence management, compensation, performance management
  • Previous Workday Studio experience highly preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to troubleshoot technical problems.
  • Experience consulting and collaborating at a Tier Three support level.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to build and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to quickly connect business requirements with the functional capabilities of the application.
  • Knowledge of Workday technologies highly preferred, including one or many of the following areas: Calculated Fields, custom reports, Enterprise Interface Builders (EIBs), Document Transformation
  • (XML/XSLT/XPath), Workday Studio, Core Connectors, Cloud Connectors, Web Services, APIs.
  • Workday certification is a plus.

Travel
Occasional travel required between Pew's main Philadelphia and Washington, DC offices, and smaller remote offices. Minimal additional travel required to attend trainings, seminars or conferences.
