The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC), America’s first superhighway, is seeking an individual to join our Information Technology team as the Systems Administrator! Our mission is to operate a safe, reliable, customer-valued toll road system that supports national mobility and commerce. The PTC operates a 552-mile system used by 194 million vehicles a year. The Systems Administrator monitors the operation, activity and performance of enterprise system components and operating systems, including troubleshooting and developing strategies to improve performance. Together, we are building the highway of the future!

Responsibilities

• Participates in the research, design, testing, configuration, installation and maintenance of enterprise system component software, upgrades, service packs, patches, enhancements and third-party add-on software.

• Establishes and maintains connections between various enterprise system components. Identifies and resolves problems with system connectivity.

• Supports and maintains enterprise system client environments including production, quality assurance, development, sandbox and training environments.

• Transports system configuration, customization and other program changes from the development environment to the quality assurance, training and production environments under the guidance of a higher-level administrator or manager.

• Configures, schedules and monitors batch jobs to ensure the timely and reliable operation of systems using established procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or information technology

• Five (5) years of experience in information technology which includes a minimum of two (2) years of experience providing system administration services such as installing, updating, configuring, monitoring and tuning enterprise systems in at least one of the areas/environments listed below, or any combination thereof:

o SAP Environment

o ServiceNow

o Microsoft Dynamics

Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be accepted.

Location

The position is located at the PTC’s headquarters in Middletown, PA, right outside of Pennsylvania’s capital city. The Central PA region has plenty to offer from picturesque scenery to premier entertainment, while residents enjoy an affordable cost of living. It is conveniently located within a few hours’ drive of popular metropolitan areas such as Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Washington D.C. and New York City.

There is a Pennsylvania residency requirement, which must be fulfilled within six months of employment.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for the Systems Administrator is $63,445-$95,168. The selected candidate will be offered an exceptional benefits package which includes comprehensive medical, dental, vision and prescription coverage, along with a defined benefit plan for retirement. Coverage is fully paid by the PTC for employee, spouse and/or eligible dependents.
