Currently, we are seeking a talented Solutions Architect to join the Life Insurance Division. The Life Insurance Division works with financial and insurance professionals to give families and businesses the life insurance coverage needed to help meet important financial protection, wealth accumulation, and wealth preservation goals. This position can be REMOTE or based in one of our Pacific Life offices in Lynchburg, VA, Omaha, NE or Aliso Viejo, CA. There will be occasional travel to Lynchburg, VA.

The Solutions Architect will be a key contributor in growing our Broad Market Operation. This role serves as the point person on new initiatives, working closely with the business to strategize and shape the solution in a rapidly changing environment. We are rearchitecting multiple applications which will involve new user interfaces, JavaScript frameworks, MuleSoft workflow, designing APIs, predictive modeling with many new technology and business partnerships.

The Solutions Architect also serves as a technical leader within the team, performing research into new technologies, helping other team members with advanced troubleshooting, coding core components of complex solutions, and providing high level vision and direction to multiple contractors and junior developers.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Drives implementation of technology vision for multiple projects and systems

• Collaborates with solution team (business and technology) from ideation phase onward to shape and guide the solution

• Technology stack owner for multiple technologies (e.g. workflow, API, imaging)

• Works to enhance, tune, and re-engineer existing connectivity and integration solutions

FACTORS FOR SUCCESS

• 10+ years of professional software development experience required

• Extensive experience with Enterprise Java is required

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to effectively train others as needed

• 5+ years’ experience in the Life Insurance domain is preferred

• Project experience with JavaScript frameworks and APIs (e.g. Angular, Node, Bootstrap) are preferred

• Solid experience consuming and constructing web services (SOAP and REST) are preferred
