Senior Developer

Basic Purpose:

Responsible for supporting existing investment applications as well as conceptualizing, planning, and building new applications for workflow and research enhancements.  Leads discussions on business and technical goals while facilitating the growth of partnerships between technology and business units.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare quantitative analysis for department portfolios and funds, including but not limited to:
  • Market risk factor analysis
  • Portfolio risk analysis
  • Portfolio/Fund benchmark analysis
  • Performance attribution
  • Fund competitor analysis
• Support the Department’s data analytics needs utilizing our portfolio management system and actively participate in systems conversions.
• Utilize programming and quantitative skills to help create efficiencies for traders, analysts and portfolio managers with the primary goal of improving workflow systems.
• Create model portfolios and automate reporting for clients.
• Work towards a long-term goal of specializing in development areas including but not limited to front-end interfaces, data analytics, back-end design, and data architecture.

Job Requirements:

• 5 plus years of software development experience
• A minimum of one or more of the following skills required:
  • 2+ years with web UI development – ideally experience with Angular 2+, React, or similar.
  • 3+ years of experience programming with C# or Java or C++
  • 4+ years of experience with SQL server
• Must have excellent communication and organizational skills and ability to communicate with non-technical investment professionals.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science strongly preferred
• Strong math orientation and numerical aptitude.
• Interest in combining technical skills with business level understanding.
• Prior understanding of financial markets preferred; familiarity with fixed income preferred.
