JavaScript Developer

Description and Overall Objectives:

Sw.r.ch is a search engine startup company that works with big data.  Currently, we are upgrading our administration panel for content management.  In this upgrade, we are remodeling the front-end interface to make the work of our content team more efficient.  The objective of this role is to build and identify opportunities to leverage the internal content management system for improvement and growth.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a JavaScript developer to collaborate with our content team and development team to build a new front-end of the internal content management system.  In addition to technical skills, this role requires a passion for curating content.  The JavaScript developer position involves frequent communication, comfort sharing ideas, and engagement in a group atmosphere. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Help define the functionalities required for the new internal CMS
• Build the internal CMS based off of the needs of the content team
• Learn and improve the JavaScript-based API server that connects the internal CMS
• Develop REST API, leveraged frameworks, and endpoints
• Anticipate improvements to the internal CMS
• Collaborate with the content team to create tools to optimize curating content

Qualifications:

• Expertise in Vue.js required
• Fluent in JavaScript
• Experience with MySQL and REST API
• Strong programming skills
• Elasticsearch experience preferred
• React experience appreciated
• Loopback from IBM knowledge appreciated
