The Position

Project Planning and Management – This role will report into the Head of Technical Program Management at Unison as a member of a highly qualified team of project management professionals, each embedded into a different part of the company who then come together to align technical teams to deliver cross-functional programs comprising the overall Unison Product and Technology portfolio. This role will embed with our Information Technology and security team to define project’s scope and schedules while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value; organize and lead project status and working meetings; keep team aligned on progress using tools that provide summary views/reports suitable for sharing with management; manage risks and issues; correct deviations from plans; and perform delivery planning for assigned projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Roadmap Planning and Communication – This role will partner with key stakeholders to identify highest valuable deliverables and shepherd the IT and security portion of our overall technology portfolio.
  • Process Management and Improvement – Manage a well-defined project management process and champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for Agile Project Management where appropriate, likely Kanban vs. Scrum.
  • Portfolio and Service Management – Manage services delivery lifecycle and ensure consistent delivery of services against SLAs by managing work in-take and delivery pipeline, handle non-technical blocking issues, stakeholder management and communications.
  • Team building – promote empowerment of the team, ensure that each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution, and encourage a sustainable pace with high-levels of quality for the team

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience as Technical Program Manager on Infrastructure and engineering teams, driving program development, creating service-based delivery models, work intake management and delivery optimization. Experience with program improvements through the use of metrics and KPI.
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit both the particular project and business environment.
  • A proven track record of successfully implementing IT deliverables using Agile and traditional methodologies, including 4+ years of experience as a Project Manager managing large, complex projects in a high-tech development environment with multi-function teams.
  • Prior experience with Agile Scrum and Kanban methodologies
  • Prior experience with enterprise-level application deployment and development projects
  •  Experience overseeing multi-function project teams with at least 10-15 team members including Developers, Business Analysts, and QA personnel
