ITT Infrastructure Engineer

The ITT Infrastructure Engineer’s role will be to design, implement and maintain ITT datacenter operations that include network hardware and software, security, telephony, servers, storage arrays and virtualization components. They will also analyze and monitor ITT Infrastructure to maintain availability of systems and data.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Under administrative direction, with broad latitude of independent action or decision, be responsible for the configuration, implementation, monitoring and support of the NYC Parks network, which includes agency routers, switches, telephony, servers, storage arrays and virtualization components.
• Plan, initiate, implement and document new infrastructure and changes.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on topics relating to routers, switches, telephony, servers, storage arrays and virtualization components; provide training when necessary.
• Define, plan and maintain standards and guidelines for optimal infrastructure efficiency, performance and disaster recovery.
• Assist with planning, research and development of new infrastructure-related technologies.
• Work closely with other ITT teams to help troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure related issues.
• Occasionally liaise with vendors and/or other stakeholders, as necessary.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering or a related field and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT infrastructure engineering; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT infrastructure engineering; or, 
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to “1” or “2” above.

This position is exempt from NYC residency requirements.

PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

1. Strong working knowledge and understanding of Cisco and Juniper switches and routers.
2. Familiarity with Windows Server Administration.
3. Excellent organizational, customer service and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
5. Ability to work evenings and weekends, as necessary.
Salary: $80,000 - $92,000 plus excellent benefits.
