Are you a Windows expert that wants to learn and push new boundaries and do new things?

If yes, we seek an Infrastructure Programmer Analyst Senior to work with the UMSI Computing Team at the University of Michigan.

About the Role

Here, you will play a leading role in the development, operation and evolution of the computing infrastructure used by faculty, staff and students at UMSI. We operate a number of systems to support critical activities within the school, including providing virtual servers and application virtualization services, supporting research applications, powering administrative web applications, and enabling teaching in courses that rely on specialized software.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in a related field or equivalent education, experience, and certification.
  • Experience in systems administration, systems integration or systems engineering roles 
  • Experience with production infrastructure operations 
  • Experience with networking concepts related to server networking
  • Experience with Windows Server administration configuration and lifecycle
  • Familiarity with project management principles/tools
  • Track record of implementing/documenting solutions using off-the-shelf technologies and system integration techniques
  • Experience with automation, configuration management and monitoring technologies
  • Familiarity with Linux systems administration, virtualization and containerization
  • Understanding of cloud computing concepts and common commercial providers

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in related field or equivalent education, experience, and certification.
  • Proficiency in programming concepts (Python, PHP, Javascript/Node.js)
  • Experience deploying services in commercial cloud environments or certification (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate - Cloud Platform, or Google Certified Cloud Professional)
  • Experience with web applications infrastructure and components
  • Familiarity with networking concepts related container networking
  • Prior experience working with sensitive or regulated data
