The Digital Media team at HBO is growing as we prepare to bring our fans new programming across all genres throughout 2019.   With a focus on engagement, driving tune-in and marketing technology, we’re doing some new things to create innovative consumer experiences tied to programming and the HBO brand. As marketing becomes more reliant on data to reach consumers with targeted messaging, we are injecting new skills into our organization that will arm us with insights and creative intelligence about those who follow and love the stories we tell.
Our Consumer Marketing team has won numerous awards including Emmys, Cannes Lions, Webbys, Mosaic, PromaxBDA, Clios, and Golden Trailer awards.

THE ROLE 

Director, Digital Production (Marketing Technology)

The Director of Digital Production (Marketing Technology) is responsible for working within our Digital Marketing team to implement and execute high-quality digital marketing activations in support of the HBO brand.
 
This role focuses on Digital Marketing’s Acquisition and Retention efforts, and the candidate will be expected to have a proven track record of successfully leading projects from the Production standpoint on everything ranging from lead generation to CRM to data-driven marketing tool integration in support of business goals.
 
Examples of typical projects for this role include, but are not limited to, partnering with project leads of CRM/Acquisition to synthesize complex subscriber lifecycle campaign strategies into realities, partnering with project leads of Data & Analytics to project manage ongoing implementation of data tagging across our digital ecosystem, assessment and improvement of internal processes and resourcing (including of third-party vendors), and ensuring ongoing platform development of HBO.com, HBO GO/NOW as a function of Marketing Acquisition and Retention needs. 

This role reports to the VP of Digital Production.
 
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

Collaborate with all stakeholders both inside HBO Digital & Social Media as well as others throughout the broader WarnerMedia team to produce and deliver on activations by:

  • Working cross-functionally to deliver/project manage integrated multi-platform lead generation and CRM campaigns, with special focus on top-level holistic needs for the Digital Marketing Acquisition/Retention team as a whole.
  • Being a key representative of the Digital Marketing requirements for the HBO.com, HBO GO and HBO NOW consumer experiences and ensuring platform development by the Digital Products team meets our departmental needs.
  • Being a key representative of the Digital Marketing requirements of the backend data services surrounding all digital experiences to ensure ongoing quality of existing projects as well as working to expand data collection opportunities as defined by our departmental heads of Data & Analytics.
  • Leading multi-disciplinary teams in the development of complex digital marketing initiatives from concept phase through launch and ongoing maintenance.
  • Leading department-wide business development needs including contract negotiations and vendor assessments.
  • Assisting the Vice President of Digital Production in department-wide resource assignments and planning (including staffing and budget).
  • Overseeing a team of Digital Producers and Associate Producers in the day-to-day digital marketing initiatives of the brand.
  • Taking a lead role in one-on-one management of direct reports, including career development and talent retention efforts.
  • Ensuring all factors that govern project success deliver within time, cost and quality parameters, and managing and communicating risk throughout the process.

 
 WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE:

  • Excellent project management skills, preferably with a background in Agile.
  • Experienced at publishing high-quality direct marketing activations with at least 8 years of relevant (i.e. media rich) interactive experiences. Mobile and tablet development and production a must.
  • Self-directed, proactive, organized, efficient, detail-oriented, unassailable focus on the basics, tenacious (persistent about bringing open items/projects to closure), accountable, enthusiastic, able to lead, motivate and drive.
  • Ability to balance multiple, competing directions, identify and delegate tasks effectively and manage multiple projects successfully.
  • Strong communication (written, verbal, presentation) and influence-management skills essential; can collaborate effectively and efficiently.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and to deliver to budget.
