Aventus USA is an emerging, well-funded Blockchain start-up based in Santa Monica, CA looking for an experienced and enterprising Vice President of Product. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll operate as a member of the executive team and a key leader at the company. You'll drive the direction and strategy of our product, working very closely with leaders of the engineering, business development, and marketing teams.  

Product is at the heart of what we do and this leadership role is key to our continued success. As the Vice President of Product, you’ll be responsible for helping to define, articulate, and communicate the vision for our next-generation products - prioritizing and implementing that vision with urgency - and you’ll oversee the multi-year product roadmap including several key strategic initiatives. You’ll act as an internal and external evangelist for all things product-related, leading cross-functional teams to develop, manage, and measure product enhancements to increase sales, support business development, and build both B2B and B2C loyalty.  

The ideal candidate will be able to identify customer and business benefits, cost savings and revenue enhancements associated with any new concepts, and lead consensus on the goals, objectives, and scope of a project or initiative. The ability to keep abreast of industry trends, ensure the group stays ahead of its competition, and research topics to guarantee the company is innovating in line with its brand values is also key.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive product strategy and roadmap, including management of the product development backlog, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team
  • Oversee the strategy and planning for the entire product lifecycle including gathering and prioritizing product requirements, determining the product roadmap, and setting/measuring/reporting on strategic priorities and KPIs
  • Collaborate with the hardware, product design, and software engineering teams to develop technical requirements and to define, build, and maintain products critical to growth, engagement and retention
  • Provide guidance through major shifts in technology, direction, and business goals
  • Define, prioritize and achieve key targets & enhancements in UI/UX, engagement, and monetization 
  • Own the launch of new offerings and ensure the field is capable of marketing, selling and supporting it going forward
  • Collaborate with marketing and business development on product-centric partner deals, and to ensure our effectiveness and reliability in the market
  • Work on high level product vision in partnership with the CEO by thinking through our mission, business goals, customer feedback, competitive landscape, and industry changes
  • Establish processes to use customer feedback, internal team feedback, and an overall product plan to prioritize engineering and curriculum development roadmaps
  • Plan release schedules, crafting messaging for products, and coordinating release amongst internal teams
  • Bring creative ideas on new products/features that can move the needle on important metrics (revenue, customer engagement, etc.)
  • Work with all customer-facing organizations to plan and prioritize features and feature requests. No one should understand our customers and competitive landscape better than you.
  • Design product specifications and use cases for features and launches and oversee translation into functional deliverables and project plans
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape and evaluate market trends to inform product development better
  • Partner with marketing dept. to develop comprehensive go-to-market strategies and plans for impactful product launches

 

Position requirements

  • 8+ years of product management experience, including at least 2 years at the Vice President of Product-level (or comparable executive role), with experience successfully conceptualizing, designing, building and releasing blockchain products
  • Strong technical and product expertise including an understanding of sales models, go to market strategies and product launches
  • Ability to interpret data and trends, diagnose problems, and formulate innovative and effective actions plans to resolve issues
  • Proven ability to see where the market, competition, and industry are going and to create a strong vision for where the product needs to be in order to win the market
  • Ability to understand the requirements of the various decision makers in an organization and how to communicate with a lot of stakeholders quickly and efficiently - including effective communication with executive management, and socializing insights into stakeholder needs that the stakeholders themselves may not be able to articulate
  • Ability to weigh competing priorities, manage tradeoffs, and evaluate opportunistic new ideas, driving to consensus while maintaining a clear focus on overarching business priorities
  • Proven ability to create use cases and user stories to perform competitive analysis, feature/function prioritization, and assessment
  • Ability to gather data and make recommendations using sources such as financial statements, primary and secondary research, and customer and partner interviews
  • A proven track record of successful collaboration with engineering, design and analytics teams
  • Hands-on experience and fluency with data analytics to drive A/B testing and product optimization, and to monitor product KPI metrics
  • BA required
