StratX IT Solutions is looking for a full-time, experienced Managed Services IT Field Service Technician to provide onsite support to our client base in Manhattan and New Jersey.   • Have strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to be able to maintain, install and repair a variety of IT issues remotely and onsite.
  • Be self-motivated and independent, as well as a team player.
  • Have time flexibility - ability to work earlier or later than your scheduled shift.
  • Be driven to get the job done and making the client happy.

The job responsibilities for this position include the following:

  • Work onsite at client locations to oversee technical conditions and implement repairs independently.
  • Troubleshoot hardware onsite accurately to determine when replacement parts are needed.
  • Perform upgrades or enhancements on client systems.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain diverse operating systems, software applications and peripherals onsite including:
    • Windows Server 2008/2012/2016, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS & DHCP
    • Microsoft Exchange Server
    • Desktop applications, including MS Office, QuickBooks, VPN access, Adobe, etc.
    • Microsoft Office 365 and other hosted email solutions
    • Backup software and virus removal
    • Peripheral devices, including network printers, scanners, monitors & UPS devices
    • Wireless controllers and access points, routers, firewalls and network switches
    • Tablets and mobile devices
  • Troubleshoot and repair network issues, including internet connection, VPN tunnels and clients, firewalls, DNS and DHCP.
  • Propose long term strategies and planning ideas for meeting future technological needs and, if approved by management, complete the task.

  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record**
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a field service role
  • 2-4 years of customer service experience in a technology company
  • CompTIA A+ Certification
  • Hands-on experience with Windows desktops
  • Experience with TCP/IP and networking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written client communication and customer service skills

**A valid driver’s license and clean driving record is a requirement. This position will require travel to various locations. You may be provided a company car for travel.
