Position Description:
The Deep Learning Senior Scientist will work on applying concepts of deep learning for enterprise applications across a broad range in potential use cases. Conduent is building analytics platforms to support its work in transportation (tolling, enforcement), healthcare (population health, payer, provider), financial services (loan servicing, prepaid benefit cards), and customer care (chatbots). These platforms will allow Conduent to leverage the power of AI to support and augment its internal business practices. Successful candidates will be expected to apply the latest advanced machine learning techniques both in the context of Conduent’s specific use cases, and in developing new and innovative solutions. Applicants will be expected to work with a diverse set of both structured and semi-structured data sources, and build deep-learning models in support of on-demand, real-time services applications. You will collaborate closely with university partners and other scientists and engineers in a multidisciplinary work environment with the ability to publish your findings in professional journals and other publications. 

Responsibilities:

  • The Deep Learning Senior Research Scientist will work with internal business division partners and clients to identify areas where deep learning will lead to innovative, technology-driven services and lead projects to deliver these technologies.
  • Research, design and prototype advanced deep learning applications in order to address business needs in a unique way, where the problems may range from exploratory to highly-applied.
  • Collaborate closely with university partners and other scientists and engineers in a multidisciplinary work environment.
  • Work with existing “intrapreneurship” and business teams to develop and help commercialize highly adaptive and robust models.

Qualifications:

  • MS with 10 years of experience or PhD with 3 years of experience in computer science or related field with extensive knowledge of fundamentals of deep learning.
  • Extensive experience in training domain specific deep learning networks.  Use of data augmentation and transfer learning for increased performance.
  • Strong skills in software prototyping and engineering with expertise in applicable programming and analytics languages and various open source machine learning and deep learning packages including Tensorflow, Torch, Theano, and Caffe to generate deliverable modules and prototype demonstrations of their work.
  • Breadth of skills and experience in deep learning – diverse types of data, diverse data sources, different types of learning models, diverse learning settings.
  • Ability and inclination to work in multi-disciplinary environments, and desire to see ideas realized in practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to propose novel solutions to problems, performing experiments to show feasibility of their solutions and working to refine the solutions into a real-world context.
