The Executive Director Site Reliability Engineering is responsible for taking technology innovations to the next level. The primary responsibility of the position will be to lead an Engineering organization that will design, develop and deliver great tooling and processes that support the agile delivery and operation of rich, secure and highly available web services and mobile apps.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts International policies, practices, and procedures.
- Provide technical leadership and direction for the Site Reliability Engineering organization.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of the product, through vision, definition, planning, execution, deployment and sustainment.
- Identify, research and drive adoption of technologies for Continuous Integration and Delivery, Monitoring, Alerting and Incident Management.
- Partner with Feature Engineering Teams to evolve engineering processes and tooling.
- Maintain technology knowledge in order to enhance the technical design, development and standards of the software platform.
- Drive consistency, reliability, supportability and observability across our services.
- Be recognized as a truth teller: use instincts and effective communication to pull people together and enable them to find solutions to challenges they encounter.
- Hire, manage and grow a team of software engineers.
- Have a keen sense for product tradeoffs and delivering simple and intuitive products that just work.
- Establish strong relationships with diverse teams spanning all organizational levels.
- Model and acts in accordance with MGM mission and values.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required:
- Eight years of experience delivering commercial cloud and backend software products and services at enterprise to internet scale.
- Previous experience leading a team of engineers.
- Strong working knowledge of Cloud technologies and modern Software Engineering processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field; or equivalent education and work experience.
Preferred:
- Previous experience working in a DevOps culture and/or working with distributed teams.
