In this role, you will develop microcontroller firmware for interfacing with, and controlling, connected circuits and devices. The position requires analytical and communication skills to implement a design based on internal requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and debug firmware for 8, 16, and 32-bit microcontrollers.
  • Support hardware design of microcontroller-based circuitry (i.e. hardware/software co-design).
  • Develop and execute test plans.
  • Author engineering and product documentation.
  • Program and manage an array of embedded firmware projects in C.
  • Design and manage a configuration application for a wireless sensor network.
  • Create end of line test and configuration software for the manufacturing of new products.
  • Utilize the Agile development process for software projects.

About You

  • BSEE (or higher), Computer Engineering or Computer Science
  • Experience developing firmware/software for embedded control systems in real-time product applications
  • Experience in the development of microcontroller-based electronic controls
  • Solid understanding of analog and digital circuitry
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing, and orally
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Experience with hardware interface, serial and networking protocols, microcontrollers, and circuit design
  • Some exposure to common test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and frequency analyzers is also highly desired.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Visual Studio, ARM Keil uVision, Silicon Labs Simplicity Studio
  • Proficient in C or C++
  • Educated in the C#, JSON, SQL
  • Experience with Silicon Labs EFM32, STMicroelectronics STM32, and Microchip PIC a plus
