Ventera is hiring for a Database Developer/DBA to support  an ongoing development project with one of our Federal clients. The position is based in our Reston, VA office.  Current or Previous Clearance (MBI/Secret/Public Trust) is a big plus.  

US Citizenship is required per a federal clearance requirement. 

Required Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ Years’ experience as a Database Developer in SQL Server 2014
  • 3+ Years’ experience as a DBA. Specifically, as a DBA for SQL Server 2014
  • 3+ Years’ experience as a SSRS Developer

Desired DBA knowledge / experience:

  • Experience with monitoring database performance
  • Experience with managing access permissions and privileges
  • Experience with trouble shooting issues on behalf of the users
  • Experience with database backup, restore and archival process
  • Experience with SQL Server Replication and CDC ( SQL Data audit)
  • Experience with data modeling tools like SPARX
  • Experience with logical and physical data modelling
  • Experience with SQL server maintenance and configuration

Desired Database Developer knowledge / Experience:

  • Experience in coordinating with Project manager / DB developers / Application Developers and BA team to implement DB solution
  • Proficiency in creating and maintaining DB programmable objects like procedures, functions, views and triggers
  • Proficiency in SQL Performance tuning
  • Experience with SSDT
  • SSIS experience is a plus

Desired Reporting experience:

  • Experience with creating and maintaining SSRS reports
  • Experience with troubleshooting and resolving reports related performance issues
  • Experience with report server maintenance and configuration
