Position Purpose
As a Senior Software Developer at Advicent, you will participate in an agile environment, developing and supporting our web-based applications using technologies such as C++, C#, Java and Angular.
What you’re accountable for:
- Develop with C++, C#, Java , Angular and other current technologies.
- Develop and maintain RESTful services and APIs.
- Lead development projects on a cross functional team to maintain, enhance, and add onto Advicent's product suite.
- Develop unit tests and build scripts to support quality and continuous integration for applications.
- Understand and participate in Advicent's Agile development life cycle.
- Contribute to the systems design process.
- Support product deployments, including but not limited to coordination, training, documentation and troubleshooting.
- Research and experiment with new technologies, tools and development techniques, sharing findings with the team.
- Utilize and maintain department development tools.
- Continually improve and promote department coding standards.
- Provide code reviews for highly complex code changes.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and research areas of application improvement to Advicent's product suite.
- Understand our products', customers' and partners' needs in the Financial Planning industry.
- Serve as a mentor to less experienced team members on best practices and new technologies.
What skills are required:
- B.S. in information systems technology or computer science, with 6+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrate a high level of creativity and problem solving skills
- Highly skilled with multiple development languages, including C++, C#, Java and/or Angular
- Experience with HTML, CSS, AJAX or other front end technologies
- Experience writing SQL queries
- Experience in application/system design
- Understanding of Agile software development methodologies
- Understanding of object-oriented principles such as SRP, OCP, LSP, DIP, and ISP
- Ability to prioritize and provide strategic input
