Managing Partner - Venture Capital

Ion Pacific is currently establishing an investment fund that will invest in Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things and Big Data (“RAID”) companies. We are actively seeking a senior motivated, experienced venture capital professional to join as a Managing Partner and lead the fund, which will make seed, Series A and Series B investments in RAID companies across Europe, Israel and the USA.

The Managing Partner will be a key member of the senior leadership team of Ion Pacific, as his/her position will be critical to the generation of a strong pipeline of RAID investment opportunities, and the identification and execution of investments in, and proactive management of, portfolio companies. The Managing Partner will also develop and nurture strategic relationships with other Ion Pacific businesses and external parties.

In this role, the Managing Partner will have the autonomy to build and manage an investment team, drive the strategy of the fund, and will, in conjunction with the investment committee, direct investments with the goal of creating a diversified portfolio of RAID investments. The candidate will also represent Ion Pacific to the external community, and will be relied upon to build a network of VC relationships, lead communications and outreach with investors, and represent Ion Pacific at conferences, roundtables and other network-building activities.

Though the position will be US based, the Managing Partner will have the ability to guide where the team will be based.

Required Skills and Experience

• At least 10 years of principal investment experience at a top-tier firm, with a strong preference for venture capital experience, or senior level managerial experience at a technology firm
• Expertise across RAID sectors and in-depth knowledge of venture capital terms and financing documents

• Expertise across RAID sectors and in-depth knowledge of venture capital terms and financing documents
• Extensive experience in structuring complex transactions, market and business analysis, and conducting technical and financial due diligence
• Extensive network of contacts in the venture community
• Demonstrated ability to orchestrate all diligence resources including internal and external parties
• Proficiency in strategic planning, deal structuring and financing (strongly preferred)
• Familiarity with mergers and acquisitions and partnership creation (preferred)
• Executive operating experience at venture backed start-up companies (preferred)
• Experience raising capital for a fund (preferred)
