DevOps Engineer

We are an Altpoint Ventures fintech startup seeking to hire a full-time Development Operations Engineer in New York. We are currently in stealth mode and will be launching our MVP product in Q2 2017. Our mission is to redefine the way people evaluate and manage their financial lives by using data and algorithms. Members will gain personalized insights into their finances which will enable them to make smarter financial decisions.

We are now hiring our first DevOps Engineer who will be responsible for leading our engagement with a DevOps-as-a-service partner and building our in-house DevOps team.

Responsibilities:

• Lead DevOps contracting staff
• Review application performance, identify bottlenecks, and work with Development/DevOps staff to implement improvements
• Review existing tech stack and design roadmap for improvements (as needed)
• Configure and review our monitoring solutions (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana)
• Review and design process improvements: Deployment, Testing, & Monitoring

Qualifications:

• You are a hands-on engineer with experience scaling DevOps (start-up experience is a plus)
• 5+ years of experience with Linux (Troubleshooting, Optimization, Config, & Install)
• 4+ years of experience with PostgreSql (Troubleshooting, Optimization)
• 3+ years with web servers (NGINX preferred)
• 2+ years with Amazon Web Services (desired)
• Experience w/ Monitoring software for alerting & troubleshooting (ELK, Nagios)
• Experience designing a full stack is a plus
