LaunchSquad is an integrated communications firm committed to producing the best possible results for companies we love. We build creative PR, social media and original content programs for some of the most innovative start-up and mid-stage technology, consumer lifestyle and media companies around. Currently, LaunchSquad is looking for a business marketing and communications professional to join our San Francisco team as a Business Development Associate.

The Business Development Associate will immerse himself or herself in LaunchSquad’s business, gaining expert-level knowledge of our business and services. The Business Development Associate will engage with in-bound and out-bound client prospects, figuring out how our expertise and services align with their business objectives and goals. S/he will work on a cross-functional team comprised of LaunchSquad’s senior staff, executing against new business objectives and helping to close new client engagements. Responsibilities will include researching new markets and industry sectors, conducting in-depth business analysis to identifying new competitive opportunities and completing competitive RFPs. In addition to working with prospects from engagement to close, the Business Development Associate will produce, organize and maintain internal and external sales and marketing materials like presentation decks, case studies, competitive intelligence and contact lists. The right candidate for this role is a self-managed, reliable team player who thrives in a fast-paced, solutions-oriented environment. Requirements:

  • 2+ years experience in a marketing, communications or a business development role with a bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Experience working with start-up, high-growth technology companies and/or a passion for technology and entrepreneurial work environments
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with colleagues, prospects and industry contacts and contribute high-impact results to a cross-functional team
  • Ability to comprehend complex, dense subject matters and translate core ideas into succinct, crisp language for prospect presentations and/or external marketing purposes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience completing RFPs and advanced presentation skills
  • Advanced in-bound and out-bound prospecting and qualification experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and CRMs
  • Exceptional self-management, decision-making, organization and team project management skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a positive can-do attitude with clients and colleagues
