About the Position

REX is seeking a talented, high-energy operations manager to create and oversee the processes and systems that will ensure dependable business performance, exceed customer expectations, outperform our competition, maximize productivity, and enable rapid growth. This person will apply excellent leadership, communication and problem solving skills across sales, customer service, marketing, HR and finance, to help ensure that REX abides by all laws and regulations that apply in our geographies of operation while encouraging the REX values, creativity and vitality within the team.The sales and business operations manager will use proven operational principles and data to create, expand, measure and drive programs to empower customer relationships, ensure profitable performance and enable rapid scale.

Duties and Responsibilities

Specific duties include the following, across all business functions, with a focus on sales and customer service:

  • Work with the appropriate REX team members to create structures, roles, processes and operating procedures for all regular business activities and to establish the right level of definition and documentation to ensure their dependable, efficient execution
  • Supervise customer service including call center to meet or exceed customer satisfaction objectives and lead improvements in key drivers impacting performance
  • Manage the above with the goal of enabling these functions to achieve their goals and deliver on high standards while maximizing productivity, speed and scalability
  • Identify opportunities to improve conversions and efficiency by templatizing or driving automation of repeated tasks
  • Create adequate structure and oversight to ensure all applicable laws and regulations are followed
  • Measure everything; use data to assess performance against customer-facing and internal KPIs and budgets including reporting on sales cycle, pipeline, individual performance and ad hoc requests
  • Facilitate communication among businesses and support functions to execute, identify and diagnose issues, create solutions, measure, learn and improve
  • Own the sales productivity stack and design process architecture working with product, UX and development to ensure software and systems support the rapid growth of the business and attainment of revenue, productivity and market objectives
  • Work with HR and others to incorporate the above into recruiting, onboarding, training, and performance managements materials and processes.
  • Contribute directly to recruiting, development, and assessment of team member performance.
  • Identify and establish best practices to build REX as a model of operational excellence
  • Play a meaningful role in company planning
  • Ensure processes and programs encourage the REX values and a positive culture

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of managing business or sales operations at a growing company
  • Proven ability to increase efficiency through automation or templatizing of repetitive work
  • Skilled at using data reporting and analysis to identify and implement measurable improvements
  • Experience managing, developing, training and mentoring teams
  • Follows an approach that is collaborative with product and development as well as with sales and marketing
  • Ability to juggle many projects and vendors at once
  • Works fast; able to determine, communicate, and dependably deliver on dates for individual tactics
  • Exceptional communication skills with fanatic attention to detail
  • Tech-savvy and experienced with saas tools including workflow management, CRM, call management and training
  • Ambitious, entrepreneurial, with sense of humor
  • Experience managing and driving process and quality in a call center setting a plus
  • Experience building a team from scratch and/or work at a disruptive, rapidly growing startup a plus
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in operational management or a related field
