Summary of Position:

The Senior Director, IT Solutions Delivery – D.C. is the strategic liaison between NRA IT and assigned Business Partners in the Washington D.C. office - responsible for building and managing relationships; demonstrating IT’s focus on engagement to help drive our business operation and strategic plan; and serving as a “trusted advisor” and primary point of contact for all technology needs.

Reporting to the CIO, the overall function of the role is to be the IT leader on point to ensure all parts of local and enterprise technology execution are delivered with high quality and positive results. Also to assist business partners in determining how to achieve business results quicker and more effectively through technology. This individual is responsible for understanding business direction and needs, in order to drive formulation of solutions and roadmaps; providing insights to technical solution capabilities, leveraging internal solutions and investigating external solutions. They are responsible for working with IT leadership in defining the strategic approach to delivering the needs of the business (stakeholder management and demand management).


Strategy & Planning

  • Create business roadmaps in collaboration with business leaders – from VPs to Managers. Includes running planning and status meetings.
  • Takes a leadership role in shaping technology services aligned to the strategic direction of the business partners they support.
  • Responsible to stay abreast of industry and technology trends that impact or support business partners.
  • Develop and implement forward-thinking improvements that enable I.T.’s ability to deliver more, faster, and with a higher degree of quality and business value by collaborating with the IT Leadership Team.
  • Relationship Management

  • Responsible for effective stakeholder management – to create positive relationships through management of expectations and agreed upon objectives.
  • Ensures/participates in development of business cases, requirements, and documentation in support of proposed and approved business initiatives in collaboration with business stakeholders and key business users
  • Be a trusted advisor to business partners regarding technology concerns, concepts, and opportunities.
  • Provides I.T. Leadership Team insights to the needs and concerns of business partners (“pulse of relationship”).
  • Operational Management

  • Leads and promotes effective teamwork and manages the resolution of interpersonal issues, serving as a point of escalation.
  • Supports all internal team members and departments following the Association mission and values while promoting Association culture.
  • Coordinates closely across I.T. functional areas that are supporting business operations – stays aware of and actively manages when necessary, production issues, project status, delays, etc. Works across I.T. to broker support and commitment of business needs.
  • Identifying solutions to systems issues and monitoring/reducing costs
  • Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of I.T. and the service catalog, and assigned departments/business partners to identify and communicate how I.T. solutions can support the achievement of short- and long-term business goals.

  • Position Specifications:

    1. Essential Training/Certifications:

  • Education: BS degree in related field (Comp Science, Engineering, Business); MBA or equivalent highly desirable.
  • Job-related experience: 8 to 12 years relevant experience;

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Computer literate (Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint applications)
  • Broad fundamental innovation and business development knowledge

  • Strong strategic vision in areas of business, development, innovation and the restaurant industry
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
