Working in a software, firmware, and hardware development environment, you will help us define the test strategy and approach for all TASER products, provide leadership, and ensure the quality of testing. Strategic thinking and planning as you guide the team through the testing lifecycle will be key as you ensure the success of the team’s manual and automation efforts within the Validation Test Department. Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive a detailed validation strategy that supports product schedules and strategic business objectives
  • Be the subject matter expert and groom the team in the latest techniques and BEST Practices in Validation.
  • Deep experience in HAAS,HALT, MTBF, MTTR
  • Build a state of the art team that tests and validates all the new devices
  • Partner with engineering, program management and supply chain teams to identify and implement an effective combination of manual and automated test coverage to ensure product quality throughout the product lifecycle
  • Build a world class automation system for regression and feature testing
  • Create, implement, maintain, and enhance test plans, test scripts, and test methodologies that ensure exhaustive testing of all assigned software, firmware, and hardware to ensure compliance with system specifications
  • Monitor product quality throughout development and post-release, identify and escalate critical issues, ensuring product releases are as error-free as possible
  • Remain current with changes and new developments in test automation technology and best practices
  • Develop and maintain procedures, systems, and reference documentation for all application releases
  • Previous experience leading and managing a functional and technical testing team
  • Educate and train validation team and implement best practices and current methodologies.
  • Provide weekly reporting metrics to Director of Quality

Basic Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership capability, team-building, and an articulate presenter
  • Skilled in Validation system testing of HW and SW systems
  • Hands-on experience developing Validation environments with automated testing tools
  • Strong software and systems architecture design skills
  • Demonstrated experience using SSH and command-line environments such as BASH
  • Self-motivated and willing to “do what it takes” to get the job done
  • Customer focused attitude with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills evidenced by a track record of effective solutions
  • Strong understanding of modern testing platforms and technologies
  • Aptitude for learning, understanding, and applying new concepts
  • Able to work within a team and work independently
  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five years testing/QA experience with at least two years in a management role. Must have proven experience using QA tools, packages, and methodologies during this time frame. Must have recent hands-on experience working in a software development environment (scrum preferred) including design, testing, deployment, maintenance of test scripts and documentation activities.

  • Process / Manufacturing experience
  • Environmental testing experience
  • Experience with Java, JavaScript, XML, JSON, HTML/5
  • Understanding of Cloud technology
  • JIRA Tracking, Zephyr Test Case Management, Tableau, Splunk
  • iOS and Android App testing
