Cloud Operations Engineer @ Way2B1

The Role

Way2B1 is currently looking for a motivated, proactive and energetic individual to join the company as our first Cloud Operations Engineer. It is a critical role for us, and you will own and drive all cloud deployment that will directly contribute to our company’s sustained growth. This will be the first role exclusively focused on making deployment efficient, robust and secure at Way2B1- so if leadership and ownership is what you seek, look no further!

What you’ll own:

• Deployment of all Way2B1 software to heterogeneous environments including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure
• Architect Way2B1's container strategy with optimization for developer throughput and testing
• Influence network security from concept to ongoing improvements across server infrastructure
• Close collaboration with the wider engineering team to both deliver platform improvements and provide subject-matter-expertise for other technical initiatives
• Continuous improvements to our standard of engineering excellence by implementing best practices for coding, testing, deploying and communication

Our ideal candidate has:

• 3+ years of experience in a developer operations role or similar function
• AWS or comparable cloud computing experience
• Container experience (docker and kubernetes are most ideal)
• Build script expertise
• Coding ability- we’re language agnostic, but would be particularly excited about Bash or Python
• Ability to achieve security goals with a “Yes if/and/but” attitude
• A hunger for collaboration (no lone wolves)
• Integrity and honesty, ability to be trusted and to work with highly sensitive and confidential information

Bonus points for:

• Experience with Continuous Integration
• A prior life as a software engineer and the ability to dust off those skills as needed
• Being particularly excited about joining a smaller start-up and being excited to define their own impact on Way2B1
• Excellent understanding of VPN's, firewalls, operating systems, security controls
• Experience with managing penetration testing, bug bounties. and security event logging and analysis.
• Experience working with webpack, node.js or React
