Hands-on CTO

500Below is looking for an experienced hands-on software developer to lead product and technology organization development for a growing sharing economy business in the personal and commercial drone market.

Our ideal candidate is software development rock star, who has designed, build and managed multi-platform mobile and PC software products from cradle to grave, including DevOps processes and technologies. Ideally the candidate has also worked with and/or managed others, including individual developers, designers, vendors, and independent product management teams.

Experience with most of the following technologies is required:

• Web system development technologies such as Ruby, Java, PHP
• Web front-end technologies such as CSS, HTML5, Angular or other frameworks
• Database technologies such as SQL, Postgres
• Software development methodologies and tools, eg. Agile, Jira, Git, etc.
• Automated testing methodologies and techniques
• iOS and Android mobile development, including push notifications, communication/ data exchange w/ web processes
• Framework mobile development, eg. Xamarin
• Third party API integrations with products such as Twilio, Stripe, Paypal, email platforms, and others
• Hosting platforms such as Amazon, Heroku, etc.
• Comfort with systems documentation and diagrams

Finally, this position is expected to be filled by a candidate who has a proven track record of working effectively with executive management and product management teams to develop and execute on both short and long-term product roadmaps, under significant time and budget pressure, and with accelerating scale. Experience with drones is a plus!
