About Harris Geospatial Solutions: Today, remotely sensed data is used to make critical decisions, to make discoveries, and to better understand the world around us. Various types of data, from airborne and satellite imagery to non-optical data such as LiDAR and SAR, is growing exponentially in availability and usage. Whether used autonomously or fused together for a more complete picture of a geographic area, remote sensing data is moving professionals across industries and disciplines into a new era of more informed decision making.

The Role

As part of our commercial engineering organization, you will be building and deploying a mix of proprietary and open source technologies to provide solutions of value for our customers and their customers (you!). You will leverage time-tested and leading edge Harris Geospatial Solutions analytics (our ENVI software) along with the necessary components and capabilities on both public and private clouds and will be directly involved in the evolution of geospatial analytic solutions on the web.

What You Will Do:

  • Configure and deploy analytic components and capabilities to public/private cloud infrastructures.
  • Develop and implement scalable and flexible software solutions internally and to a public cloud.
  • Evangelize best practices and keep abreast of current technology in cloud development and architectures.
  • Work closely with hosting and cloud vendors.
  • Develop customer-facing solutions in conjunction with engineering group.
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves. This role will evolve over time, and we’ll want you to evolve with it!

Experience:

  • BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or 2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Amazon Cloud services (Google and/or Azure a plus)
  • Experience with RESTful web services
  • Exposure to Jenkins, Artifactory/Nexus, Chef, Apache, Perforce/SVN
  • Experience in continuous integration/deployment environments
  • Solid understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Customer and relationship-focused, process-driven, results-oriented, organized and self-directed

Nice-to-Have:

  • Development using IDL or MatLab
  • Virtualization technologies
  • JavaScript and Node.js
  • Agile/Scrum
