MSG Ventures was created to advance MSG’s goals of creating the “venue of the future,” along with immersive experiences that revolutionize the way fans, artists, and events engage and connect – both in and out of the venue. Ventures will explore and create technologies that redefine the limits of connectivity, video and acoustics, and content distribution, with the ultimate goal of creating immersive experiences that take place before, during and after an event. MSG Ventures will strategically invest in and partner with companies and institutions developing next-generation technologies that redefine the live entertainment experience. The MSG Ventures Product Engineering, Engineer role will be part of a multi-disciplinary team developing technology ranging from high density wireless to dynamic audio systems to immersive video and gaming platforms. This role is based in NY.

MAIN DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:

  • Supports the product engineering life-cycle from rapid prototyping, to requirements definition, to systems development/test, and launch
  • Performs engineering activities in target practice area(s) (e.g. connectivity, skinning/display, video, acoustics, immersive)
  • Supports and documents requirements that define immersive user environments including artist and guest needs, capabilities/assets, and practical realities to implementation
  • Contributes to the product roadmap from initial MVP to maturity
  • Follow best in class product development, engineering documentation, and program management

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential:

  • Four-year degree in STEM
  • 1-5 years’ relevant work experience
  • Familiarity with the commercialization of new products and complex systems, including underpinning technology development and business case justification
  • Comfortable reviewing deep technical specs, as well as user experience design
  • Intellectual curiosity, with a healthy appetite for debate
  • Ability to work in an unstructured environment

Highly Preferred:

  • Ability to perform in a “start-up” environment, and support the entrepreneurial process
  • Experience in a technical sector, preferably in an engineering or product development role
  • Experience in a professional services firm including management consulting, system integrators, or industrial design
