The New Relic Growth team is tasked with driving acquisition, onboarding, monetization, and retention across the New Relic product suite for the full lifecycle of our customer base. We work closely with Product, Customer Success, Sales and Marketing to make sure our most critical digital experiences are authentic, well designed, measurable, and tested for performance.

The team focuses on these four core areas for Growth:

  • Data & Analytics: We ask the right questions about what drives growth, collect relevant data, automate the analysis, and define tests that improve conversion.
  • Acquisition: We own the digital acquisition strategy for newrelic.com and focus on optimizing the conversion rate of different aspects of our digital marketing strategy.
  • Engagement & Retention: We own key experiences across the customer lifecycle that help drive engagement and growth such as setup, signup, and product adoption.
  • Monetization: We own the self-service checkout in product, which allows interested customers to enter their credit card and get billed for New Relic.

Responsibilities:

The UI Engineer will work closely with the other members of the Growth Engineering team:

  • Implementing in-product and outside-of-product growth strategies
  • Prioritize & scope solutions to meet the needs of the business
  • Mentor and learn from teammates; review code, create documentation, and collaborate to improve the team's productivity
  • Instrument, analyze, and automate the analysis of user behavior data

You should be able to demonstrate your ability to create rich, interactive, easy-to-use user-facing applications. For this role, it's critical you are fluent in CSS/JavaScript/HTML and are enthusiastic about mentoring others on your team in acquiring these skills. You'll do well if you're eager to learn/expand your full-stack development skills. You should also be comfortable working in a fast-moving, iterative environment. Independence, self-motivation and strong communication skills are more important than years of experience.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with recent front-end technologies and frameworks (such as React or Angular)
  • User experience and design
  • Information design, data visualization
  • Full-stack software development, especially Ruby/Rails
