Job Summary:

The Software Engineer will work as a member of a team to design, develop and test a front end, web-enabled ASP .NET and C# application. The application will provide a custom front end user interface and enhanced features for a deployed Kentico Content Management System (CMS). The system will also interface to the Army’s Digital Training Management System.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with customer to define requirements and develop new features
  • Assist with software integration and test in a development and production environment
  • Isolate system defects and take corrective actions
  • Plan and manage assigned work and provide timely and accurate status
  • Document issues and work with Government to resolve issues
  • Provide verbal and written updates, status, and completion information to manager, as requested.

Education and/or Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree with specialization in engineering, systems management, applied mathematics, computer science or a related field
  • Minimum of (5) five years of work experience as a software engineer supporting ASP.NET or C# application development
  • Ability to work in a distributed team development environment
  • Ability to perform first level troubleshooting with End Users
  • Ability to document problems reported by End Users

Preferred:

  • Ability to design, implement, test, debug and fix issues with deployed software system
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server
  • Familiarity with Content Management Systems
  • Familiarity with Military (Army/USMC) Training Management
  • Familiarity with Army Training Network (ATN) and Digital Training Management System (DTMS)
  • Familiarity with Army Training Organizations, Doctrine and Strategy
  • Ability to work closely with end user to identify, document and resolve system issues
  • Possess clear and precise oral and written Business English communication skills

Other Qualifications:

• Submit to required background check

• Adhere to established guidelines and procedures
• Demonstrate high standards of quality and accuracy
• Be in attendance and punctual as scheduled
