About This Role
Our current team is skilled, but we are looking for someone who can take our troubleshooting and infrastructure design to the next level. As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer you will be able to join the team and immediately contribute to Location Labs' success. Our team is in constant communication with all the other departments in the company to enable them to design, deploy, and maintain the best software possible.

- You are fluent in advanced Linux usage and administration
- You can identify and troubleshoot problems in your network
- You can design a modern, highly available platform at scale
- You work in a repeatable and maintainable fashion in whatever you do
- You excel at breaking down complex topics into easy to understand chunks for your colleagues
Experience
- Fluent in scripting using Bash
- Hands-on datacenter experience racking and connecting servers, switches, etc.
- Competent in at least one dynamic language - Python is preferred
- Setup shared and/or distributed storage infrastructure
- Managed hypervisors using platforms such as oVirt or Openstack
- Deployed configuration management and deployment tools such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef
- Set up routers and switches from scratch, using dynamic routing protocols and commonly accepted network best practices
- Contributed to an open source project
- Created, maintained and optimized databases
Tech We Use
- Linux: Ubuntu LTS Releases, standardized on 14.04 Trusty
- Networking: BGP, Cumulus, OSPF, Strongswan
- Databases: MySQL
- Availability: keepalived, LVS, HAProxy, Corosync/Pacemaker
- Config Management and Deployment: Ansible
- Managed Hosting: We deploy and host most servers ourselves in a co-lo facility (We had 350+ hypervisors running a mix of ESXi and KVM at last count). We also host some products in AWS.
- Integrated collaboration tools: Git, Slack, Jira, Fisheye, and Confluence extensively. We work as a team and emphasize collaboration and code review.
