Sr. Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer you are responsible for being part of a team building the best omni-channel platform for selling connected devices by designing, coding, integration, support, and maintenance of the application. Create implementations that meet architectural and operational requirements and perform to expectations using Consensus standards and processes.

WHAT YOU WILL BE LIVING AND BREATHING EACH DAY

• Participates in physical design and development planning meetings to learn how to determine the best solution to accommodate the business need
• Partner with entire technical team in determining systems planning, scheduling and implementation timeline to ensure the appropriate timing is set to ensure the project can be completed in scheduled time
• Understands and develops software to support technical specifications
• Uses technical knowledge of standard development concepts, practices and procedures
• Writes, develops and continuously unit tests software that meet the needs of the design specifications
• Performs functional testing of software to ensure software is performing appropriately and at optimal level
• Identifies and escalates issues that impact project performance
• Diagnose, isolate and de-bug software problems and performs problem resolution
• Create new and extend existing operational documentation
• Adheres to standards and best practices, processes, and deliverables in accordance with Consensus standards
• Collaborates with team to promote re-use and develop consistent technical build processes
• Learn to maintain existing software systems by identifying and correcting software defects
• Develop skills in new technologies

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

• 4 year college degree and/or equivalent experience
• 2+ years’ experience building database-driven applications in a SaaS environment
• Basic knowledge of web/ecommerce architectures, technologies and design
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with multiple languages: Java, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML 5, PHP
• Familiarity with Agile methodology
• Experience with Java, Unix/Linux, Apache, CSS, SOAP, REST, XML
