Jaunt is a fully-funded venture-backed VR media company with our headquarters in Palo Alto, California. We are building an end-to-end solution for creating cinematic virtual reality experiences. We have developed an integrated suite of hardware and software to produce the highest-quality immersive content.

The Role

The iOS Engineer/Senior Engineer is a highly challenging and highly technical role offering the chance to define the early days of a new industry. Candidate would have to know or be willing to learn Unity for iOS with a focus on interactivity, network optimization and performance tuning. While we are looking for prior iOS and C++ experience as a good indicator of future success, our main criteria includes passion for VR, creativity, and strong work ethic combined with relevant technical experience.

What You’ll Own:

• Hands on coding of iOS Unity based mobile app
• Contributions to our plugins and low-level application layer in C++
• Collaboration with the applications team to create a consistent consumer experience across multiple platforms
• Partnering with other teams within Jaunt to deliver high quality mobile experiences where needed

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

• Computer Science degree or relevant work experience
• 3+ years of mobile application development on iOS devices
• Previous professional experience and comfort with C++
• Demonstrated experience working in highly cross-functional teams
• Strong knowledge and interest in consumer application design & delivery on mobile platforms

Bonus Points for:

• Previous software development experience outside of mobile is strongly preferred
• Knowledge of Unity3D and/or other game engine platforms
• Previous experience working with streaming video and 3D graphics
• Passion for/knowledge of VR applications, cardboard SDK
• Development of social application experiences
