Test Automation Advisor

The Role:

Sauce Labs is looking for someone who is passionate about test automation and Continuous Delivery to engage with a portfolio of existing customers and help them be successful with Sauce Labs by serving as a trusted advisor and thought leader on automated testing and continuous delivery. In this customer-facing and highly technical role, you will advise our customers to make informed, strategic decisions in order to make full use of our technology and ensure long term customer retention and growth.

You will:

• Evangelize best automation and testing practices through multiple delivery mediums
• Work with customers to develop their strategic vision for automated testing, (including criteria for success) and then to help them achieve it
• Assist new Sauce Labs customers with getting automated tests to run in parallel to take full advantage of the value Sauce Labs provides
• Assist new Sauce Labs customers with integration between their Continuous Integration (CI) server and Sauce Labs
• Ensure that new customers are successfully on-boarded through technical kick-off sessions and best practices guidance and recommendations.
• Be our customer’s voice within the Sauce Labs organization; it will be your role to find out what customers need from us in order to be more successful
• Work closely with our Customer Support, Sales Account Representatives, and Professional Services teams to solve customer problems.

Our ideal candidate:

• Has 5+ years of automated testing experience, including demonstrated knowledge of writing automated Selenium Webdriver and/or Appium tests.
• Enjoys talking to people and has great verbal and written communication skills
• Is familiar with a variety of programming languages and automated testing frameworks (ideally Java, Javascript, and/or .Net)
• Is a pro with Continuous Integration (Jenkins, Bamboo, CircleCI, Team City, Travis, or related)
• Knows Continuous Delivery (CD) concepts
• Has excellent debugging and problem solving skills
• Rates written and verbal communication as their most finely honed, and often employed skillsets

Bonus points for:

• Experience with and enjoyment for working directly with customers/clients
• Knowledge of one or more of the following would be very helpful- Ruby, PHP, Cucumber, Mocha, Chai, JUnit, TestNG, Python, Protractor
• Proficiency with shell scripting and prototyping
• Prior experience web and mobile app development
• Familiarity with BDD, TDD
