The Digital Marketing Operations Manager role is a cornerstone of the APICS marketing team and a key contributor toward the advancement of APICS’s digital strategy. We’re seeking someone who is passionate about user experience, analytics and digital marketing processes that advance brands and drive business results. Someone who loves the challenge of ensuring all marketing technology platforms work in harmony to provide rewarding and interactive digital customer experiences.

The "go to" expert for APICS’s digital marketing technology stack, the Digital Marketing Operations Manager works closely with the marketing, creative and IT teams, and is expected to lead and participate on cross-functional project teams. S/he is the point person for the operational aspects of business-critical digital marketing platforms including all APICS websites, CMS platforms, mobile applications, email service providers, marketing automation, and social platforms. The marketing operations manager, leads digital marketing projects and manages agencies and vendor relationships to ensure delivery of exceptional digital experiences that are on brand and achieve business goals.

This is a full-time position based in the Chicago office. Only U.S. citizens are eligible to apply.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ Degree in business or information technology from an accredited university (BS or BA or equivalent)
  • 5+ years of professional digital marketing experience
  • Proficiency in marketing automation systems (Highroad, Marketo) and experience integrating those systems with other technologies
  • Experience launching, managing, maintaining and optimizing websites (ASP.NET CMS systems, HTML, CSS, Google Analytics, SQL, SEO), email marketing platforms (Highroad, Marketo), databases (Aptify), and social platforms
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and an understanding of graphic design
  • Strong analytical skills including mastery of Microsoft Excel

Desired Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience in seven or more of the following areas:
    • Analyzing website traffic and using results to improve performance
    • Implementing Google AdWords and remarketing programs
    • Creating websites, building landing pages and updating website content
    • Applying UX best practices to enhance site visitor experience
    • Building, testing and managing automated and dynamic email campaigns
    • Training others on how to post web content and manage email campaigns
    • Managing search engine optimization (SEO) programs
    • Managing social media platforms and using social data to improve performance
    • Evaluating new technologies to improve and update marketing technology stack
    • Leading marketing technology projects and assisting on technology implementations
    • Providing reports with actionable insights
    • Setting direction for digital marketing strategy
  • Google certifications are a plus

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for APICS.org content management process and reporting. This includes the creation of new microsites, pages and blog posts and completing more difficult tasks within the CMS.
  • Responsible for the marketing automation platform and integrated marketing technology stack. This includes new campaign and template creation and implementation, A/B testing, building complicated e-newsletters, and assisting the marketing managers with email set up that incorporates best practices and optimal viewing across all devices. Continually analyze results to identify potential issues and areas of improvement.
  • Oversee interactive marketing projects, budgets and deadlines. Manage the relationship between the Marketing and IT teams and the marketing team and outside technology service providers. Maintain the process and procedures documentation for marketing technology usage.
  • Maintain marketing technology and tool platforms. Evaluate and recommend solutions to improve capabilities, performance and value.
  • Work closely with IT department to develop more efficient use of marketing technologies and budget. Understand how to leverage existing marketing technology stack for greater marketing efficiency.
  • Create and update scorecards and/or dashboards that track platform performance. Pull data for quarterly review meetings and marketing planning sessions to provide marketing team and product owners with information and suggestions on how to improve the performance of marketing campaigns, promotions, and processes.
  • Establish closed-loop analytics with sales to understand how our inbound marketing activity turns into customers, and continually refine our process to convert customers.
