Our New York office is currently seeking a Data Engineer to join our Applied Data Strategy Team. As part of our growing Applied Data Strategy team, you will have experience:

• with open-source projects and rapid prototyping
• with graphically communicating complex information and processes simply
• working with complex data sets

About you:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science (competencies in data structures, algorithms, database design, object oriented design and design patterns)
• 2+ years demonstrable proficiency in three or more of the following languages: C, C++, Java, Scala, C# (or VB.NET), Python
• 2+ years of experience with Cloud Hosting and Deployment (e.g. AWS, Azure, Heroku), PaaS and SaaS
• 2+ years experience with Web Application and Server Architectures (e.g. MVW, REST APIs, Apache, Nginx)
• 2+ years experience with Relational Database Systems and SQL
• 2+ years experience using SQL (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres) and/or NoSQL (HBase, Redis, MongoDB) data stores

• 2+ years experience in at least one scripting language (Python, Perl, BASH, PowerShell, PHP)
• 2+ years experience in Data Mining and Data Cleaning

• A working knowledge of Big Data technologies (e.g. MapReduce, Spark, Storm, HDFS)
• An interest in Data Science and Machine Learning
• Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.

Bonus Points:

• If you have worked in an Architecture or Engineering firm
• If you have worked with software typical to AEC industry – Revit, Rhino, various BIM interfaces
• If you know client-side programming languages
• If you think information is beautiful and powerful
