About The Position:

REX is looking for a visual designer with a great understanding of brand and usability. The ideal candidate will be both sensitive to UX at the same time be a brand steward owning the online style and implementation of the brand in the digital space and grow into the Art Director/Creative Director position. This is working on a small product team working directly with the Director of product design as 2 parts of the creative team to for UX and UI design. This is a startup environment, which will allow you to try things, learn, and course correct at a fast pace. This gig is both strategic and tactical, and needs someone who thinks strategically, while being able to execute beautiful and graceful designs.

What You Will Be Doing:

As a UI/Visual designer, you will be working with the product and development team to help continue to build-out and optimize the REX platform. Your efforts will include, but will not be limited to: designing the UI the main platforms, advertisements and marketing materials, extension and development of the brand both visually and in tone.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of total experience designing for mobile and web in consumer product focused environment.
  • BFA or equivalent in fields related to design
  • An up-to-date understanding of best practices, developments and trends in mobile and web design.
  • Excellent copywriting and/or written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Creative Suite and other
  • Well rounded and can easily move between brand design, print communications and UI design
  • Experience working in an agile environments preferred
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills and ability to defend design decisions.
  • Demonstrated experience of being self-motivated to prioritize and manage workload and meet critical project milestones and deadlines.
  • Ability to code to in HTML preferred, but knowledge of current HTML, responsive design and javascript standards is required.
