We are seeking a seasoned native Android developer who is an Android fanatic – someone who eats, breathes, and is passionate about Android to help us build beautiful, engaging apps that use mobile sensors to track driving habits and show drivers how to improve and give them a score that lowers their insurance premiums.
Our apps build on innovative mobile sensing and machine learning technologies for making sense of complex sensor data to understand driving habits and quantify safety.

What you’ll do
- As the first Android developer hire, you would take ownership and take charge of developing the Android builds of our apps
- Develop code that optimizes battery consumption without compromising sensor collection quality
- Make decisions on best UI practices for optimal Android experiences
What we seek
- Ability to write high-quality, reliable, clean, and organized Java (Android) code
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science
- 3-4 years of professional experience
- Some experience leading projects
- Experience shipping apps to Google Play
- Must have a love for visual design and UX
- Experience with location and motion sensor technologies
- Up and current with trending development tools and workflows including Git, Jenkins, Gradle, unit testing, UI testing, and continuous integration
